If someone’s mental or emotional health deteriorates quickly, they may be experiencing a mental health crisis or mental health emergency.

In these situations, it’s important to get help quickly. Try to stay calm and ask someone for help if you need it. The information below is here to help you access the right support for you or someone else’s needs.

I need to see someone today -  Are you 14-25 years?

The Forward Thinking Birmingham Crisis team operates 24/7 to provide urgent mental health support.

Call us on 0300 300 0099 and you’ll be able to speak to someone.

Opening hours (Mon – Fri 8am – 8pm and Sat – Sun 10am – 3pm) or our Crisis team at any other time.

We’ll be able to talk to you, check you’re OK and assess whether you need to be seen by our clinicians. If so, we’ll aim to get out to you within four hours.

I am (or someone else) is in immediate danger

Call 999 or go directly to your nearest Accident & Emergency (A&E) department.

Other ways of Accessing Support

You may prefer to contact your GP, who can support you in accessing the right services, including the Out of Hours GP Service if your practice is not open.

If they feel it’s necessary, your GP will immediately refer you to Living Well Consortium for an urgent assessment.
