Becky began working with people around 2001, volunteering at The Prince’s Trust in Exeter and supporting young people to complete a 12-week personal development course that they too had completed.
This gave them the confidence and skills to apply for their first job working with young people in the voluntary sector; working with some lovely, supportive, funny, and creative people who inspired and motivated Becky to do well. Over the years Becky has worked in several places in roles largely with young people.
After being made redundant as a result of Youth Services cuts, a little uncertain what to do, Becky found themself working in a children’s home where they became fascinated in human behaviour. This triggered their involvement with Psychotherapy. Six years later, Becky graduated from Newman University with a Msc In Integrative Psychotherapy with Adults and Children.
As a Walking Therapist Becky has enjoyed coming out of the therapy room and accompanying clients in green spaces, adding different experiences to the therapeutic work of counselling and psychotherapy.
