Mental Health Treatment Requirement

MHTR was a one year pilot programme for people with low to medium level mental health problems assessed as being treatable in primary care services and whose offending behaviour may be positively affected by mental health intervention in the community.

Its purpose was to provide a therapeutic requirement which addresses rehabilitative and punitive needs by proving psychological support for all individuals including those at risk of a custodial sentence.

Individuals were offered 12- 18 sessions of mental health and wellbeing support.
